Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen will initiate contact with potential recipients of project funding. This goes for projects both within the fields of research and the arts. Our aim is to ensure that funding is granted only to projects that are clearly in line with foundation as well as recipients’ own strategies and priorities.
Funding of Projects Within the Arts
The foundation wishes to promote projects (also within the performing arts) on the highest international level. Through its project support, the Bergen-based foundation wishes to strengthen the Norwegian arts community and at the same time promote beneficial synergies between projects.
Through its activities, the foundation wishes to strengthen free and independent Norwegian research and help build strong international research teams in the areas it chooses to support.
The foundation will concentrate in the first instance on research in the medical and maritime/marine fields. Within these areas, it will focus in turn on a relatively limited number of large projects, selected through peer review evaluation of applications.
The foundation will make contact with potential recipients to request applications. Such contacts will be made in cooperation and understanding with the relevant institutes/faculties. As a result, no applications will be accepted at this stage from individual researchers. See also the mandate for the Advisory Committee on Medical Research.
