K.G. Jebsen Centre for the Law of the Sea established in Tromsø, Norway

Dedicated to research on the law of the sea, a new K.G. Jebsen Centre is now established in Tromsø, Norway at UiT, The Arctic University of Norway. Hosted by The Faculty of Law and in partnership with Fritjof Nansen Inistitute, the K.G. Jebsen Centre will focus on key challenges facing the Law of the Sea in the 21st century.

Scholarships 2013 from Kristian Gerhard Jebsen and Jantzens Fond

On March 15th the Board of Kristian Gerhard Jensen and Jantzens Fond awarded two scholarships to support trainee assignments, one in NewYork and one in London.  The grantees are Lilly Kathrin Myklebust Relling  and Tove Dickman Haugvaldstad, who will receive NOK 200.000 each.

Leif Ove Andsnes – first recording from ”The Beethoven Journey” released

The first “Beethoven Journey” recording has now been released on Sony Classical. Beethoven’s Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 3 were recorded live at the Prague Spring Festival in May 2012. In total, the project will see Andsnes perform and record all five of Beethoven’s piano concertos as well as the Choral Fantasy in the Czech capital, directing the Mahler Chamber Orchestra from the keyboard. Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen supports “The Beethoven Journey”.

Edvard Grieg Piano Competition

In 2012 the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition is held at Edvard Grieg’s home in Bergen for the first time. Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra has entered as the Orchestra for the Final Round. The Final will be arranged in the Grieg Hall in Bergen.

Millions to the Arts from Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen

Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen enters three individual sponsorship agreements worth NOK 19 million (2.4 million euros) with the Bergen Philharmonic, Leif Ove Andsnes and the Bergen International Festival.

K.G. Jebsen Center of Exercise in Medicine

The activities at the K.G. Jebsen – Center of Exercise in Medicine at NTNU has now started.  This was marked by an event i Trondheim on June 15th 2011. A seminar was held in conjunction with this event on June 16th 2011. See the seminar program here.
